Cloud Cost Optimization CLI

Developed a cloud cost optimization CLI tool for Google Cloud Platform that helps organizations monitor spending, identify optimization opportunities, and generate cost forecasts through automated analysis of billing data and resource usage.

  • Built comprehensive FinOps platform with 33 REST API endpoints and 5 service auditors for Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, and Storage, processing billing data with 180-day historical analysis and 90-day cost forecasting
  • Integrated AI and machine learning features using Groq LLM and Prophet forecasting with 7 AI endpoints for cost analysis, anomaly detection, and automated recommendations with confidence intervals
  • Implemented data processing architecture with BigQuery integration, caching system (5-15 minute TTL), and async operations supporting multi-region analysis and automated PDF report generation
  • Created developer-friendly API with FastAPI backend, command-line interface (15+ options), and CORS support for frontend integration, managing 25+ Python dependencies for cloud cost management
  • Enabled cost optimization workflows through automated resource auditing, idle resource detection, over-provisioning analysis, and priority-based recommendations to help teams reduce cloud spending
